Promoting and Nurturing Talent

Promoting and nurturing the talent of our Practice members is the key to our organic growth and success. Many of our most highly qualified partners and associates joined us at trainee and graduate levels. We invest in our staff throughout their careers to develop some of the best talent in the industry.

Martin Arnold actively work with providers to deliver the Apprenticeship Programme including but not limited to London South Bank, University of Westminster and University College of Estate Management. The programme encourages school leavers into work as trainee surveyors which supports them to achieve their academic goals.

What our Staff Say

  • Daniel

"Working at Martin Arnold whilst completing my degree has enabled me to develop a strong foundation of experience and understanding from first-hand involvement in the day-to-day activities required. This has allowed me to broaden my knowledge of construction and the way things are done, which has helped me significantly in getting my degree in Quantity Surveying."

  • Jonathon

"I’ve very much enjoyed my experience so far at Martin Arnold. When you start your career as a graduate there can be a lot of overwhelming information, but everyone at MA has been incredibly supportive. I’ve really enjoyed the diversity of the work and it’s been a great experience going out to site to watch our projects develop first-hand."

  • John

"I joined Martin Arnold in 2018 as a Graduate QS and was pleased to see that APC support is very much within MA culture. Supporting APC candidates is something that is actively encouraged across the practice at all levels. I like getting to know project specifics inside out, so that I’m able to advise clients and other project stakeholders. It feels great when I receive compliments from a client."

  • David

"Martin Arnold have given me the flexibility to complete my Masters alongside my work commitments. They also provide a great deal of assistance to graduates who are embarking on a new career. The mixture of projects I have been involved in since joining has provided interesting variety and a good range of experience, particularly when working towards my RICS APC."

Our training strategy is to recruit people with the right core skills and provide them with the technical knowledge, resources and experience to develop. We deliver excellent training and development opportunities, tailored to meet the needs of each Practice member regardless of their experience or qualifications.

As a firm of chartered surveyors, we are regulated by the RICS. We must ensure our staff are competent, well trained and meet RICS’ high professional standards.

Over the last decade we have maintained a very high success rate for the RICS’ Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and have a range of registered APC Assessors within the Practice.  We have also established our APC Forum, where APC candidates can gain extra support from their peers and experienced members of staff.

To become a Chartered Surveyor and a member of the RICS you must undertake an Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). We support our candidates by providing the knowledge, CPD training and work experience required to pass. MA have APC Assessors who assess external candidates, meaning we retain the expertise required to help our own candidates pass.

The RICS Associate (AssocRICS) qualification recognises the skills of individuals with relevant work experience and vocational qualifications. We have Associate RICS Assessors available to help and guide individuals through their AssocRICS qualification.
