Brunswick Street is a flagship Joint-Venture scheme for Maidstone Borough Council to deliver their first new-build homes for Private Sale.

The scheme includes the redevelopment of an existing car park in central Maidstone to deliver 47 no. contemporary units in a mix of private and affordable tenures, while also providing a new, smaller public car park.

The success of the Joint-Venture partnership with Purelake New Homes is reflected in the delivery of high-quality and spacious modern homes.

Martin Arnold were involved with the project as early as Feasibility stage and acted as both Joint Venture Consultants and Employer’s Agent throughout; helping to navigate Maidstone Borough Council through various project challenges that were encountered along the way.

Collaborative Approach

Martin Arnold have ensured the needs and goals of all stakeholders have been aligned throughout the project to ensure a collaborative spirit is upheld; overcoming the challenges of Covid-19 in 2020. This included the effective management of separate contractual relationships between Maidstone Borough Council as Developer and Purelake New Homes as Contractor, and also Maidstone Borough Council as Developer with MHS as S106 partner.

As one of their early flagship schemes with a substantial private-sale element, Martin Arnold have supported Maidstone Borough Council as Developer in their first Joint Venture endeavour, to capitalise on a ‘shared risk, shared reward’ construction opportunity that has allowed them to recoup funds to reinvest back into the Borough.
