Ben was one of the first trainees to join Martin Arnold in 2004, qualifying as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2011. Since becoming a Director, Ben has led a team of Building Surveyors specialising in asset management, refurbishment and Building Safety work. 

Having gained significant project experience over the years, Ben now leads on a range of residential, leisure and education projects and has extensive experience in delivering both new development and refurbishment schemes. 

Ben has in depth knowledge of Fire Risk Management, is certified in Fire Risk Assessment, and has years of experience in delivering works to ensure compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. 

Ben is an Associate member of the Institution of Fire Engineers and a certified External Wall Assessor. Ben has a wealth of experience in both internal and external Building Safety works. He was part of the team that successfully delivered one of the first ACM cladding replacement projects. Since then, and with a proven track record, the team has secured a number of other cladding replacement projects delivering more than £64m worth of work replacing external wall insulation, high pressure laminate and other rainscreen cladding materials in line with current legislation and advice.  

Ben’s expertise in Building Safety has led him to speaking at numerous housing events over recent years, discussing the need for culture change, quality in construction, reflecting on the Hackitt Review and the Building Safety Programme. He has supported many clients and our internal teams in getting to grips with the Building Regulations Principal Designer role through the delivery of CPD sessions.
