Promoting and Nurturing Talent
Martin Arnold is committed to nurturing the next generation of professionals by actively recruiting trainees and graduates who are passionate about the built environment. This has been the key to our organic growth and success. Many of our most highly qualified Directors and Associates joined us as trainees and graduates. We invest in our staff throughout their careers to develop some of the best talent in the industry.
The training opportunities we offer provide the mentorship and practical training needed to pursue a RICS-accredited APC pathway and obtain industry-recognised qualifications.

As a firm of Chartered Surveyors, we are regulated by the RICS. We must ensure our staff are competent, well trained and meet RICS’ high professional standards.
Over the last decade we have maintained a very high success rate for the RICS’ Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and have a range of registered APC Assessors within the practice. We have also established our APC Forum, where APC candidates can gain extra support from their peers and experienced members of staff.
MRICS
To become a Chartered Surveyor and a member of the RICS you must undertake an Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). We support our candidates by providing the knowledge, CPD training and work experience required to pass. MA have APC Assessors who assess external candidates, meaning we retain the expertise required to help our own candidates pass.
AssocRICS
The RICS Associate (AssocRICS) qualification recognises the skills of individuals with relevant work experience and vocational qualifications. We have Associate RICS Assessors available to help and guide individuals through their AssocRICS qualification.
What our People Say

Kieran
"As someone who learns best through practical experience rather than book learning, the apprenticeship programme has been great for me. What I learn one day in university, I apply the next on site. I am also able to earn while I gain experience, begin working my way up the company ladder early on, build industry connections and have regular support from senior team members."

George
"I have been working at Martin Arnold since 2016, coming straight out of school to join the apprenticeship route that consists of 2-years part time college and 3-years part time university, both one-day a week. Doing so has allowed me to gain knowledge through learning as part of my course, while also learning through first-hand experience on site and in the office day-to-day. Since completing my degree I now work 5-days a week on various projects including new-build developments and defect management whilst also completing householder planning applications, all within South East London and Kent."

Will
"Being part of the apprenticeship scheme at Martin Arnold has given me the chance to work on a wide range of projects while completing my BSc in Building Surveying. Working while studying has allowed me to apply what I have learnt from my degree to these projects and vice versa. The practical experience afforded to me has been invaluable in achieving strong university results and progressing towards becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor. The balance of practical experience and academic knowledge has deepened my interest in the profession, which in turn helps me work towards my career aspirations."
